To find data to restore or to locate something you would like to download or share as a public link, use one of Keepit's many features to help you establish the location of this data.

Begin by selecting the connector where the data you want is located.

Search connector

Use the search box to find specific files in your connector.

You can search by filename or metadata (email subject, sender email, data type, etc.).

Keepit identifies non-exact matches of search terms so relevant results will appear even if the terms are misspelled or incomplete. The results that most closely match your entry will appear at the top of the list.

Filter items in a folder

Browse to the folder where your item is and then enter a term in the filter field to narrow down the items.

You can filter by name, size, date, label, or any of the other data types shown in the table you are viewing.

User filters

You can use one of the available filters to narrow your results according to file type.

Click the filter icon in the upper-right corner. Then select which search filters you want to apply.

If you select the Emails filter, you will be offered additional options for filtering by email subject, sender, receiver, or date range. Enter the terms and then click Apply email filters.

Add or remove columns

Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the table. Select or unselect the columns you want to add or remove from the table.

In addition to the name column, only up to 5 more columns can be shown at one time.

Sort data by column

Click the down arrows near the column names to sort the column alphabetically, by size, date, etc. Click again to reverse.

Deleted Items View

Turn on the Deleted Items View to see all the data that ever existed on your tenant and that was backed up by our solution.

Simply select the Deleted Items View (trash can & eye) icon and deleted users, files, folders, and objects will appear in the location you are viewing. They will be easily distinguished from files currently on the tenant as they will be faded and marked with a trash can icon.

Once you locate your lost items, you can directly restore, download, or share them.

Snapshots Viewer

You can use the Snapshots Viewer if you want to step back in time.

Select the Snapshots Viewer icon, and then select a snapshot. You can use the slider to limit the list of snapshots shown below.

Once you have selected a snapshot, you will now be browsing this particular backup. The day and time of the snapshot will be shown above.

Versions Viewer

You can find different versions of a folder or file by selecting ••• > Versions to the right of the item. Only snapshots where the folder or file is present will be listed.

Select a snapshot to then browse items inside that folder from that point in time.

File Previewer

The File Previewer allows you to preview any data object before initiating a restore, helping to guarantee that the correct data is recovered.

Open the File Previewer by clicking on the file name. From the viewer itself, you can open the Versions Viewer, initiate a restore, download, share, or print the file.

The File Previewer is not available for the Entra ID connector.
